Trading Standards Statistics 2009

The final data for the 2009 Trading Standards are now available. Internet subscribers may use the 'Download e-Book' and 'Export Data' links to access the data. In 2009-10 local authorities in Great Britain are expecting to spend a total of £213m on the provision of the Trading Standards Service, with income of £29m anticipated from grants, fees and charges for services such as weights and measures testing. Net expenditure on the service shows a 2.1% increase from £208m spent in 2008-09. Over the same period the RPI has decreased by 1.2%.

Environmental Health Statistics 2007-08 Actuals

The final publication of the CIPFA Environmental Health Statistics 2007-08 is now available to download, covering a range of activities from 'air pollution' to 'waste monitoring'. The services comprising the 'core functions' in this survey aim to 'prevent' the breakdown of public health and safety. In performing this duty local authority gross expenditure during 2007-08 is estimated to have been £1 billion. The average net expenditure per head of population is £12.98 (including capital charges) in England and Wales.Internet subscribers can access further statistical information, including data at local authority level, by accessing the links on the left. Final data for the 2008 Trading Standards are now available. Internet subscribers may use the 'Download e-Book' and 'Export Data' links to access the data. In 2008-09 local authorities in Great Britain are expecting to spend a total of £236m on the provision of the Trading Standards Service, with income of £23m anticipated from grants, fees and charges for services such as weights and measures testing. Net expenditure on the service shows a 5.3% increase from £202m spent in 2007-08. Over the same period the RPI has increased by 4.2%.
