Personal Social Services Statistics

The statistics show that in 2006-07 local authorities in Great Britain spent a total of £21.7 billion on the provision of personal social services. This is an increase of 3.7% since 2005-06 when expenditure amounted to £20.9 billion. It is estimated that local authorities will spend £22.2 billion in 2007-08, a further £515 million or 2.4% increase over 2006-07
